Christmas.........JUST DO IT!

                 JUST DO IT!

At this time of year when everyone is feeling the "warm & fuzzy" from the season, some even having family problems from the stress of it all. I asked myself, "What does this time of year mean to you?" As I began to think about this seemingly easy question it open alot of other questions in my mind about living for God and whether "Christ" was the real reason for the season in the Lewis household. As I write this I am merely attempting to provoke a thought process for others as I have in my own house.

Is Jesus really the reason for the Season????  Did you only think about God and the miracle of His birth  at the one of a few church services you attended for the whole year?

Is Christmas not a "Christian Holiday" celebraring the birth of the one and only Saviour Jesus??? As I pondered the true meaning of Christmas it became appearant that WE i.e Christians really have generally lost touch with what this day/season should really be about. It is a time of year when most of us make it ..............Well, just that ABOUT US! When really it's not about us at all. Being Christian is a open profession that WE ARE CHRIST LIKE!

Doesn't God's word talk about "Not loving with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth." God is love and was the greatest servant to ever walk the face of the earth. Where is the "Servanthood" attitude during this time of year? Could this be the only time of the year when we are even attempting to be "Servant-esk?"

How much have you or I done for another during this Christmas season? How much of the servants' attitude have you shown to someone in need or less fortunate? This should be the time of year where we not only come together with our families to act as starving animals, but a time where we reflect and focus our thoughts, actions and make it truly CHRISTMAS!!!!! (About or in honor of CHRIST!)

This time of year should be more than a "festival" atmosphere. I want to position myself each Christmas to become more CHRIST-LIKE!
Don't let a Christmas season pass without making it about CHRIST! I want Christ to truly be the reason for this season in my household. Not about who got what, what they wore or lets's see you can eat the most and fall asleep in the favorite chair the quickest.

Let me leave you with a couple thought provoking ideas. The Bible says " He that openly does something worthy of a reward has already recieved his reward, but he that does it in private will recieve his reward in private" Meaning from God, if you haven't done something special for that stranger yet this yr........DO IT!  Take someone some groceries and leave them on their porch.
Mail someone a card with some money in it and don't put your return address on it.
I hear people alot with excuses, they are just that. Make it a God priority, live your life not just in talk, but in love and by your actions.

Remember Jesus is the reason for this seaon..........JUST DO IT!

God Bless & Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
